Generally you want to look at http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=165182, but this could be better for you if your system doesn't want a variable sized cursor theme.

Very nice looking cursor set, only problem is with black terminal. Cursor is then hardly visible. Could you highlight it with some bright color? Thank you
