the download link has been broken for a very long time. Perhaps this theme should be removed from kdelook if it is no longer available.
Download is broken (404).
The link is broken. Could you please provide the theme somewhere else? Greets Marcus
Fixed, thanks for notifying me.
Sorry Znurre! Now I see that this theme can be installed on every Distribution. I thought "branding" means that this theme can only be installed on OpenSuse, because I can`t install it before. Sorry for this misunderstanding!
No problem :)
i'm unable to install this theme from GHNS in opensuse 11.0/kde 4.1.71.
It might be because the archive is a simple tar-file. I will repackage it with tar.gz and hope that it work.
version 0.2 fixed the install issue in opensuse 11.0 at least (for me).
Nice theme, thanks It is really a shame that someone has to wreck your contribution by moaning that it is OpenSUSE branded. goona it's very obvious from the title of the theme that it is for OpenSUSE, and in my opinion there is nothing wrong with branding. Sadly the KDE community is becoming very rude and arrogant lately. You could of simply thanked this person for the work they put in. Znurre, thanks for the theme, nice theme, and I hope OpenSUSE include it in 11.1
Nice work! I have added your theme to the official openSUSE 11.1 Pixelpool so maybe it can be officialy included in 11.1 :-D http://en.opensuse.org/Artwork:Pixel_Pool/11.1
Thank you very much :)
...but could you make an unbranded version so that others could use it?
Well, the theme is dedicated to openSUSE, so I will not change it. It would however be very easy for you to change it yourself using Inkscape :)
You could at least write something in the description, which informed others that the theme works only with OpenSuse. In my opinion, such themes should be deleted immediately. Branding sucks, it `s not Linux Philosophy. The other thing is that I really dont like it, that I can see this theme inside my KDE on Hot-New-Stuff, and cant install it.
Well, did you ever take a look at the default openSUSE artwork? This theme tries to recreate this in a plasma theme. Using this theme with another distro would be like using Windows artwork in Linux.
So what?? Every 5th Emerald-Theme here on kde-look is based on Vista and we still can install it on any other distribution. The problem is that this Theme will be offered every KDE-User througth 'Get Hot New Stuff', but only OpenSuse-Users can use it. I hope no more of this Branding-Crap will be released here on ***-look. If every Distribution does it, it will be pure gambling, what works after a tried installation.
This theme WORKS on all distros, it does not have any dependency of openSUSE but it is designed for openSUSE and because of that I will not remove the branding.
Well, if you don't want to make a copy of the theme without the logo so much, then whoever wants one without it can just remove it and share with others. That's what Free software is all about ;)
hi, nice theme...but like the previous comment...this theme wont automatically install from me if i click the 'install' button in the 'New Theme' dialog in desktop settings....and i am running opensuse 11. so i guess something in there is making kde 4.1.2 not auto install the theme.
@suppandi hi, nice theme...but like the previous comment...this theme wont automatically install from me if i click the 'install' button in the 'New Theme' dialog in desktop settings....and i am running opensuse 11. so i guess something in there is making kde 4.1.2 not auto install the theme. ------------ tar xf openSUSE.tar cp -R openSUSE ~/.kde4/share/apps/desktoptheme works perfect, no need restart KDE :)
Looks nice, but I hate the openSUSE text. I wouldn't want it even if I was using openSUSE.
