Description: This is not a new plasma theme, just a new version of my old plasma theme: Ozone. I decided to rename it, because there is a KDE4 window decoration, named Ozone, and I don't want my plasma theme, and the window decoration to be mixed.
This is just 0.9, not 1.0 yet, because I'd like to test it, and make some bugfixes or improvements before such a "big" release. So, download it, test it, love it (or maybe let me now, that something is wrong, etc.)
To install, follow instructions in the archive, or use KDE addons installer (require latest KDE4 from svn).Have fun!
PS: Comments are welcome.Last changelog:
0.1-first version - analog clock and analog meter backgrounds - widget backround - normal and opaque dialog and panel background
0.5 -added metadata.desktop file -added tooltip.svg file -added tasks.svg file (requires unstable version of KDE4 from svn, or the coming KDE 4.1 -changed opaque backgrounds: one, new background for the panel, dialogs and tooltip - modifed background for the notes widget
0.9 -renamed to O3 -smaller widget borders -re-designed panel, tooltip and dialog background -shutdown dialog background -re-designed notes backgroun -re-designed task item background -new elements and improvements for new plasma theming engine (Hand shadows in the clock, new task item theme, pager, etc.)
Can someone please help me install this thing. I'm new to KDE (and fairly new to Linux) and I have no idea what a plasmoid or plasma theme is. But I like this and want to install. I dont see any instructions on how to install a plasma theme.
The tar ball says I need to extract it to KDE4ROOT/share/apps/desktopthemes but nothing happens if I do. (What is the default location of $KDE4ROOT?). I have Kubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron with KDE 4.
Well, you can use GetHotNewStuff to get it (there should be a Download button next to the option to change the theme in Configure Desktop, from which you simply select the theme you want and click Install), or you can install it yourself (depending on the theme, it may have to be compiled first, which simply requires a ./configure, make, make install run).
If it just says "Copy to $KDE4ROOT/share/apps/desktopthemes/" (and I've seen such before), know that generlaly, $KDE4ROOT is /usr (if there is an existing /usr/share/apps directory, that's probably it; just create a directory desktopthemes and put the theme in it).
Because I haven't updated the archive yet...:(. I don't know, what's wrong, but I tried to upload the archive with new version several times, and it didn't work. So, the archive you've downloaded is the archive with version 0.1. I'll try upload my theme later, or I will publish it on external server.
I have this problem too... Perhaps I know, why we can't se my plasma theme in the theme chooser. I haven't created metadata.desktop file in the theme folder. All themes on kde-look.org have this file, so i think that therefore they are visible in the chooser. But I'm going to update Ozone in a few days, with that file an many more functions and improvements. Plasma theme contest motivates!
