Description: This is a theme I compiled to try to emulate the visual style of KDE 3.5.x. It's a derivative of other themes that I cobbled together from here on KDE-Look.org
I've done some other things to make my personal desktop more 3.5ish. I don't like how KDE treats the desktop, so I use a full-screen folder view of ~/Desktop for my desktop.
I also changed the Window Decorator from Oxygen to Plastique and I've changed the color scheme to a something a bit lighter.
I also have turned on the Classic Menu, although the Application Launcher style looks nice too.
Lastly, I've set the task manager to force row settings with two rows.
Hope this helps!Last changelog:
1.2 - made changes suggested in the comments. Hopefully it works now? 1.1 - Various fixes.
In the file metadata.desktop, erase the contents of the lines Name= and X-KDE-PluginInfo-Name=, and substitue it with:
Name=Vintage
X-KDE-PluginInfo-Name=Vintage
Then it works fine.
Looks like the real problem is that the root level folder in the archive has a name that is automatically hidden by Linux (and any other Unix OS). Try giving it the name "Vintage" instead of ".customized1". Also, right now it shows up in the desktop theme selector with the name "(Customized)".
Had to download the theme and install it manually, and I still can't get KDE to recognize it in the Desktop Themes menu. I'm pretty sure I'm extracting it to the right folder (~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/Vintage), but it's not showing up. Am I doing it right?
...but I had to install it manually. It does not work with "Get New Themes" from system settings. (Not sure what it needs, make it .tar.gz instead of .tar???)

While looking for a Mac-style theme I stumbled into your creation and I must say it's really good, keep it up :)
With every theme being mostly transparent and/or flashy gradients, your theme is a refreshing change. A bit sad, that it isn't upvoted more.
Thanks for the kind words! I recommend you take a look at "Klassik" as well. It's a really well-done theme that has a similar design.

Should be fixed!

Strange. I'll re-tar it and try it on another machine and reupload it.

Thanks. I think it has to be a zip. Should be fixed.
