Hi, my "Tools" submenu is empty, any idea why?
nevermind, it works again. I have no idea of what happens, though. This is a nice add-on, thanks a lot. May I suggest that using a different path than /home/user/bin would make it cleaner? Or at least hide it with /home/user/.bin so it doesn't add clutter to visible home folders.
Is this a closed source project?
Please add an option to add watermark to all sheets in a PDF? For example "DRAFT" "CONFIDENTIAL" etc. Would like to be able to configure the default location, scale, opacity, orientation (e.g. 45 degrees), etc.
9 very useful, almost complete feature set
1 Not working. Tried installing the 2.3 and the 1.0 version. Always getting the "pdfimages-kdialog" not found error. Even when this file exists
Now that I've installed it by hand, I don't get the dialog anymore. But just nothing happens after clicking on "Extract all Images" or anything else.
Hey, this service menu seems awesome, but I can't get printing to work on Fedora 36. It complains about a missing 'pdfprint-kdialog'. Problem is, I can't find it for my life. `dnf provides pdfprint-kdialog`, `dnf provides */pdfprint-kdialog`, `dnf provides /usr/bin/pdfprint-kdialog`―no packages are showing up. Is it possibly named something else on Fedora? For more context, `dnf provides [file/command]` will list all packages that provide the specified command or file. So, if 'pdfprint-kdialog' is just a distro-specific package name and not any filename or command, I could see why it isn't showing up. But `dnf search pdfprint` (just a standard name/description search) returns nothing and `dnf search kdialog` only returns the 'kdialog' package (which does not provide any 'pdfprint' functionality). If I could get some guidance on how to get 'pdfprint-kdialog' installed (maybe a direct path to a file it provides, so I can see if `dnf` can find it), I'd really appreciate that.
Also, line 20 of 'install-system.sh' needs to use the `-r` option, otherwise it will not copy over "doc/booklet_example" because it's a directory.
I realized that 'pdfprint-kdialog' is provided by THIS package. So I checked out the install script ('install-system.sh') and after minutes of staring and not realizing, it dawned on me that `sudo cp bin/* ${bin_dir}` is only ever called if `${bin_dir}` DOESN'T exist. On practically every Linux system, the bin directory you are looking for already exists, so it never copies those files. You need to move `sudo cp bin/* ${bin_dir}` outside of the if statement (just after it). And I would recommend adding the `-n` option to it (e.g. `sudo cp -n bin/* ${bin_dir}`) to prevent it from overwriting existing files.
Actually ignore most of what I said. I think Plasma automatically downloaded the 1.0 version for whatever reason (I used the built-in store to download it). I think most of this stuff is already solved in the 2.3 release. Sorry for all the comment spam, I just wanted to provide information to anyone else in a similar situation.

KDE neon 5.21 , with plasma 5.21.1 is giving me some errors, pdfnup not found when trying to repaginate or convert to brochure, it seems that texlive-extra-utils doesn't come with pdfnup no more. Extracting images and text is not working, and don't show error message. And the compressed PDF's outweigh the originals. It works well rotating, ataching documents, croping, and converting to JPEG, etc, great job !
Sadly it doesn't work anymore (on Ubuntu) since pdfnup no longer is contained in texlive-extra-utils, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/ source/texlive-extra/ bug/1893469/comments/3 I fixed it for pdf-repaginate.desktop, see https://gist.github.com/caco3/d14f3a5ec527eb8409782d3eeb68f395
Thanks CACO3 for the fix. I still use an older version of kubuntu and didn't notice it.
9 when you merge PDF files, it would be nice to be able to choose the name of the destination file. Or at least it was a short filename. Now concatenates the name of all the PDF files to join and in case that name will be very long, an error appears and the documents are not merged. I look at pdfunit-kdialog options and I can't see the option to like in pdfunite... pdfunite-kdialog --help USE: pdfunite-kdialog action files action: merge, add files: file1 file2 ... example: pdfunite-kdialog merge /home/user/file1.pdf /home/user/file2.pdf pdfunite --help pdfunite version 0.86.1 Copyright 2005-2020 The Poppler Developers - http://poppler.freedesktop.org Copyright 1996-2011 Glyph & Cog, LLC Usage: pdfunite [options]..
@nandelbosk thanks for the tip. I'll add it to the to-do list :-) Best regards Giuseppe Benigno

repaginate does not work anymore because pdfnup no longer is contained in pdfjam. Instead it is now a parameter option, see https://github.com/DavidFirth/pdfjam#-wrapper-scripts-no-longer-included-here
Thanks for the tip My regards Giuseppe Benigno
Ci risiamo, la conversione in PDF/A-1 non funziona più !!! Ci mettiamo in contatto per unire le forze e risolvere (anche perché ormai ho pochissimo tempo da dedicare a questo) ?
