Hi Andrea. I'm not able to create ascii art drawings. Well actually I'm not able to draw at all. The Brain comes from http://www.chris.com/ASCII/, Animaniacs sections. I obtained the "transition" effect using 3 layers. The lower one is an image with The Brain and the text "gentoo linux". The upper one is another image placed exactly above The Brain and contains his ascii-art where every character is transparent. In the middle (totally covered by the upper image) I placed an orange progress bar. The upper image with transparencies hides the whole progress bar (that's obviously rectangular) so the resulting effect is the transition from grey to orange of every char in the ascii-art.
