I tried inside /usr/lib/gnomenu dir but in vain.
Can u suggest some hack so that i can make it more efficient for me.
For some reason the menu is popping up at the top of my screen even though the bar it should be attached to is at the bottom of the screen. I'm not sure what I did that messed it up.
I just installed this menu but I realise that icon of button are crushes from the button width. For a better quality of icon u have to hack the file located in: /usr/lib/gnomenu/Menu_Widgets.py
search this:

and change the value to 12 =)
this will leave icon aliasing and give a better look to ur menu :D
hope this help, 'cause, in the past I didn't use this menu for this horrible thing.

Hello
This error in 1.9 is easily resolved when you choose not to delete the applet then reboot.
by the way i use version 1.9.6 and installed it from a debian package on ubuntu 9.04.
I've installed under openSuse 11.1. It all seem to be all right but when I add it to the panel the menu doesn't show me any programs.
The other buttons work fine (Computer, Recent Filed, etc) but the program list is empty.
Am I doing anything wrong?
Ok, so I'm still pretty new to Linux. Can someone please break this down "Barney Style" for me? I'm having a issue with trying to figure out how to install this!! Thanks!!
DEPENDENCIES :

Hi guys.
I've installed Gnomenu 1.8.
I'm running it in xfce using XfApplet.
It works fine...but I've one only problem: if I click on one of the buttons in the right side of the menu (Documents, Computer, Pictures, Videos, Search, etc.), the system logged me out from my xfce session, and go back to the login screen.
How can I fix this?
I hope that someone could help me!
Thanks ;)
Have you tried gnomenu 1.7. You can find the download on the gnomenu launchpad (google up gnomenu). I heard it is more stable.
PS. Thnx for the XfApplet info, didn't know about that.
Try GnoMenu 1.9. And how did you get GnoMenu to work on XfApplet. On version 1.7 it didn't show the icons in the middle of the menu and whenever I clicked on the right side of GnoMenu (Kore theme) it didn't open anything and then GnoMenu didnt open up at all. On version 1.9 it doesn't open at all. I have Xubuntu 9.04
Thanks
AZorin

This has been issued already to launchpad GnoMenu team and should be fixed soon. The startup bash script does not work either as provided by the devs.
hi, does anybody know how to create submenus as shown in screenshot 3 ? thx:christian

and change the value to 12 =)

GnoMenu1.8 doesn't work with "Intrepid Ibex". No icon, no error massage. Don't know why.
