Visual F-Prot is a graphical interface for F-Prot Antivirus(TM) for Linux Workstations for home use (available for free download) copyrighted by Frisk Software International (www.firsk.is). Before you install this program, you must install F-Prot Antivirus, because it won't work without it.

It works with F-Prot antivirus version 4.5.3 and above - it's not tested with earlier versions,but it should also work with them.

*** DEPENDENCIES - PLEASE READ! ***

This program is built with GTKMM 2.4 C++ libraries, so you'll need those for it to work.

You'll need VTE libraries (libvte), because from version 2.0 Visual F-Prot uses VTE widget for interaction with f-prot antivirus. Because of that, there's no need for xterm anymore.

It's also very important to install the latest version of libpango (in the moment of writing this document, version 1.10.3).
