Just upgraded and find I am forced to use tabs. The config setting for 'Use windows instead of tabs' has disappeared. This is a big nuisance for my multiscreen multiwindow way of working, despite the ability to detach tabs. Can this setting be restored?

hackan301

That must be really annoying. You should still be able to run separate instances of rekonq though which you can have on each screen, right? My problem with rekonq is that it won't even run on PowerPC anymore after 13.04. No idea what's being done about that.

Why has rekonq even passed version 1.0.0? I still consider it very beta looking at all the flaws and bugs. And unfortunately it seems to get worse.

Does this release restore the option to have normal menus? I have switched to Chromium until the menus are fixed. Would prefer to use Rekonq but gotta have menus. regards, -j

Just tried 1.7 and I found that. I like to put the bookmarks toolbar at right of the address toolbar. But I couldn't unlock toolbars... Also I couldn't find the option of "keep tabs always visible". But everything else seems OK! Hope you keep your awesome work. Thanks!

Hey adjam I've got a question. Once there was request for storing form content. The reason why this basic function that was given that qtwebkit offered no method to access form content before it's send, that prevented feture like this one or spell-checking impossible. Assuming we have spell checking right now is forms history possible now?

I keep trying this browser with every upgrade. I like it and I want it to work. I really do. But it's been what, two years now? It still crashes all the time. On the same stuff. Are these bugs going to be fixed anytime in the near future, or should I just give up and stick with FF?

adjam

well... did you reported the problems you had? How can you think we can fix a bug without having idea about? We obviously test the "stable" code we release and you should understand that the stability of a "Desktop Environment" product like rekonq depends on all the software stack (qt, webkit, kdelibs, kio, rekonq).

Rekonq is quickly becoming my favorite browser, though I have some questions only because I couldn't find answers using Google. 1. Even though I change the text size in the configuration, and rekonqrc does show the change, the actual text on the web page still stays the same size (12 pt.). Is there a way to correct this? 2. Even with AdBlock turned on with subscriptions checked, with and without a custom userContent.css, no ads are being blocked; again is there a way to correct this? I've seen this behaviour, even after deleting rekonqrc, with the package from the Ubuntu repositories (0.9.1) and I also added the recent build PPA (0.9.9), and I still have these issues. I've got KDE 4.8.4 on Kubuntu 12.04 LTS. If these can be solved, It'll be almost time to get rid of FF, I can't stand the resource drain FF causes.

i would say i like the speed i liked all the stuff but WTF IT CRASHED ALL THE TIME ON GOOGLE PLUS facebook google plus google translate google maps youtube vimeo can this sick browser be compatible at least with these sites ? how many years of develop one user should wait to get at least these website without a crash? .... btw i am writing from firefox as every year..

adjam

Hi, and sorry for the long late reply. I don't know exactly the problem you are referring about. Did you report it? What version are you referring? Are you using an old flash version? I can just say that I use rekonq as my daily browser and I browse weekly (if not daily) the sites you reported and I'm having no crashes there. We just have a known problem (due to qtwebkit) about G+ file upload.

which was the latest stable release when i commented ? i dunno remember 0.9 or 1.0 anyway there is no point on rekonq and i will tell you why, yea yea i know you don't care , anyway 1 has it plugins? for example to dowload and convert videos ? no 2 can you video chat ? no 3 is stable like firefox\ others ? no 4 can you install service menu like konqueror 5 is it light ? yes so why should someone use only rekonq ? i can image a combination of firefox for good web browsing experience and rekonq when i need less ram usage but after that .... i will i use ti ? no because i use firefox all the time i will not report bugs and crash sorry i don't seee something that work well here.

I'm really starting to enjoy Rekonq! thanks for making this to all devs! I'm not a heavy/all day user of Rekonq, I use it occasionally (so I might be wrong here) but when there's a mozilla like sync option, it'll be my default browser. Only thing else is the icon -it stick out among the rest - but I don't like it (don't really know why) b.r Jonas

Hi, could you please use . for respins, not -? As 0.9.0.1 - it would help me a lot :)

acidrums4

Geez, can't wait to use it! Unfortunately Gentoo hasn't put Qt 4.8 into Portage's stable tree...

First of all thank you for this awesome browser!! I use rekonq as my default browser for about a year and I am very pleased by the steady progress. Currently I use rekonq 0.8.73 (build from git) and I have a small problem with kwebapp. Problem: kwebapp right click menus are not localized. Possible solution: I compiled kwebapp.po (from /trunk/messages/extragear-network/) and now menus are localized. So is it possible to update download_i18n.sh to do that? Thanks a lot!!

adjam

Yes, fixed. Sorry for late reply!

no way crash all the time , bad load of pages the most of time... i dunno why is the kde's default browser :S chromium \ iron firefox work better and faster , for safe surfing i use konqueror.

roctheme

Konqueror is the default browser for me too, because rekonq doesn't offer the option to open the current page in an other browser or application associated by the mime-type. This feature I missing too for okular. Rekonq is ok, but Konqueror has more options and is much more powerful at the moment. On low band-wide connections Konqueror is faster then Rekonq. But the version 0.9.* of Reconq seems to be more stable and the fonts are better adopt to the current resolution of the screen.

SvenArcher

First of all... Thank you very much for the great browser! I'd like to start using Rekonq for web development, however one minor feature I'm missing is a "Reload Frame" option in the "Current Frame" submenu. Is this something that could be added in future releases?

Hello. I have Kubuntu 11.04 - Spanish language (Argentina) "es-AR" ("AR" part is not the same that "ar" from Arabian). When I go to Google, YouTube and others sites, rekonq enter in the site using Arabic as default language. In Konqueror the same thing happens, but I can fix the problem if I mark "Add language information" in "Identification" setting. How I could fix the problem in rekonq? Entering from rekonq to: http://private.dnsstuff.com/tools/aboutyou.ch I get in "Your request": "Accept-Language: ar, en_US" Thanks!

And chrome extension support?

adjam

will arrive with rekonq 3.0!!!

If I go to opendesktop.org Rekonq wants to download safari.jsp file. What's this file? It makes me angry...

x-padavan

The problem is not a problem anymore. At settings/ adblock I insert safari.jsp. The download is stoped. Sorry for disturbing...
