Description:
Overclocking utility for ATI video card, 32 bit executable.

-Catalyst 9.3+ is required (for libatiadlxx.so)
-It works with 4xxx, 3xxx series card others have not been confirmed. Mobility version seem to not have OverDrive implemented and there probably won't work, at least until it is implemented in the driver.
-The gui should be pretty self explanatory, but for the fan if left uncheck it keeps the "automatic" setting, otherwise it goes to manual mode set at the defined percentage
-Use wisely, e.g. you probably shouldn't turn off the fan and overclock everything to the maximum
-Since I modified the ADL SDK, and the license doesn't allow me to distribute the source, and I didn't want to figure out if I could publish under the GPL system library exception I am just posting executable at this time.
-Thanks to storma for the icon and phoronix forum members for testing the app
Last changelog:

1.0.5
-Change to use built-in button box in dialogs, which should show locale translation
-Added a new setting to change the internal refresh time which was set before at 2 second by default

1.0.4
-Added a kde system monitor (ksysguard) compliant daemon. To monitor locally use 127.0.0.1 since the standard ksysguard does not support multiple daemon per host name. To monitor remote machines use my modification of the ksysguard application under GPL also on kde apps, http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php/System+Monitor+2?content=110181, and deploy/run atioc on all your machines you would like GPU to be monitored.
-Added settings for the daemon to change the port and binding interface setting, setting are applied at next restart of atioc
-Now when the gpu reports that fan monitoring is not supported it will be greyed out in the interface, this will stops all the error message being printed out if starting from CLI

1.0.3

-Fixed a bug that caused an error "cannot set overdrive level" with certain card. This could affect any card series since it was due to an incompatibility with certain video card bios.

1.0.2

-Added a save setting option to allow restoring setting on applicaton startup, FYI the settings file is in $HOME/.config/atioc/atioc.conf
-Fix an issue that the app needed to be closed before doing a logout on kde otherwise kde would report the logout was aborted by the app

1.0.1

This should fix the issue with pre 4xxx series cards and underclocking.

is there any utility to check the result? ccc - can't, because i have mobility radeon hd2600

sabby

Do you mean verifying that the settings were changed correctly? If so you can use aticonfig to verify that some of the setting were taking into account correctly, but not all since for example voltage info is not supported in aticonfig cli

skew

Thanks, but "aticonfig --od-getclocks ERROR - ATI Overdrive(TM) is not supported on the Default Adapter - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600" I think it doesn't change any clocks or voltage, unfortunately. Ati overclocking utility based on "ATI Overdrive(TM)"?

sabby

Yes this software use the overdrive module of the ADL_SDK. As far as I know it is not supported on mobility gpu, therefore this software won't do anything. Unless AMD enables support in future driver the mobility GPU...

skew

With a great pleasure i discovered support for "ATI Overdrive(TM)" in my HD2600 Mobility with fglrx 8.721-100310a-097159c-ati (catalyst 10.4 beta), maybe some earlier versions. And under(over)clocking/undervolting works pretty well... I like this app! :)

seems to work fine for me : - mandriva 2009.0 kde 3.5 - Gainward Radeon 4850 overclocked edition - Catalyst 9.6 thx

Will you add underclocking in the future? This HD 3850 won't go below its default speed in this app.

sabby

There should already be underclocking in this software alread. However, I had no confirmation before that series 3xxx card were working. Can you post which Catalyst version you are using? You should be able to underclock down to your idle speed. You could put a screenshot of the overdrive/info tab so I can have a look.

charlie2

It does not appear I can send a screen shot through kde-apps.org. Info tab: ATI Radeon HD 3850 Clock 670 Memory 830 Voltage 1200 fan% 9 GPU temp 58 GPU activity 0 overdrive tab (sliders at default) clock 670 mem 680 voltage 1200

charlie2

I meant on the overdrive tab mem 830 in other words the settings are all at the defaults and cannot go any lower.

sabby

And what are the min/max for each slider? What was your catalyst version by the way? Nice to see that it does seem to work with a 3xxx series card. I actually saw no reason for it not too work for card supported by catalyst 9.4+ but nobody had a chance to test with it.

charlie2

Catalyst 9.6 gpu 670-720 mem 830-880 volt 1200-1254 fan 0-100

I see, I was taking the low end information from the idle speed of the card since I didn't see the need to go below idle speed because on my card below idle speed is too low and hangs. However, perhaps series 3xxx of card doesn't support idle speed and idle speed which is perf level 0 is just reported as the beginning of the peak range. In any case, in next version I will put the low end of the sliders to the low value reported by the card which should fix this issue for series 3xxx card, and series 4xxx card can just be careful about going to low.

sabby

FYI, idle speed on my 4830 is report as 160/250

sabby

Could you post your catalyst version so I can update the info page that it is was confirmed working for 3xxx series card.

sabby

give the 1.0.1 a try see if this allows lower value on the slider for you

Lole

Works with the open driver of ubuntu?

sabby

If by open drivers you mean radeon/radeonhd then no, it requires catalyst 9.3+ which is available in jaunty repository under the name xorg-driver-fglrx.

Lole

ok, thanks!
