Hey Varol, I lost your email. I wanted to send you the out put of the latest build. While it did build, the output was funny, thought you might want to see it. Drop me an email.
For those who want qt4 like, use qt3-qtcurve. debs here: https://launchpad.net/~falk-t-j/+archive/lucid/+files/kde3-style-qtcurve_0.69.1-0ubuntu0+ppa1_amd64.deb https://launchpad.net/~falk-t-j/+archive/lucid/+files/kde3-style-qtcurve_0.69.1-0ubuntu0+ppa1_i386.deb
is there any qt4 port ?
2.1.0 is still not qt4? :o
Nice, very nice. Will do some heavy testing in the next few days, but so far so good. Thanks again!
Varol, nice update so far. Will get into heavy testing soon. Looks great so far. Thank you again.
Hi, First of all, excellent appilication! I really like it. When I create a DVD Mpeg file with Avidemux QDVD reads a incorrect video length. E.g. a mpeg-1 file with a length of 26 min. (this mpeg-1 file is readed correctly) After conversion with Avidemux to DVD mpeg file, QDVD thinks that this file has a length of 12 min. I'm not sure if this is a bug in QDVD or Avidemux! But other software (xine / mplayer) are reading the file correct. Eabe
Are you sure xine is showing the correct length. The reason is that I know that xine-lib has issues determining the correct length of mpeg / ac3 and some other formats. ffmpeg ( I.e. MPlayer ) is much better in telling the length of a video. You can change the used backend under [Tools -> Setup -> Media Engine] Setting it to QMPlayerWidget will most likely result in better values but will also be a bit slower. Hope that helps. Varol :)
Hi Varol, I got these errors whilst building ( I checked off build with debug info, maybe that's it?). I am on it. Currently downloading 2008.1 and will install on VirtualBox. Varol :)
LOL, you're just looking for something to do. PS, Was Wall E a good movie? I'm saving it for the coming holidays.
Hey, yep Wall-e is a great movie. A bit cheesy but real nice. Also I hope that by ow you got yourself a hot version of 1.6.1, as this solves some general issues plus it makes it easier to build and install :) Varol :)

I made the corrections you suggested in the email. It built and works perfectly. Thank you very much!
Hi. I liked the qdvdauthor much.... BUT there is a thing that always happen when I compile a DVD of 3-4 ours long - in the beginning of transcoding process mencoder takes 85-100% of CPU time & works great ~90 fps, but gradually the qdvdauthor itself takes more & more CPU time leaving to mencoder about 15-20%, and then generally the hole job doesnt rich its end, but crashes... qdvdauthor compiled OK all dependncies OK. What can be the cause & solution?
I have not encountered this issue, but then I have not created such a large DVD in a long time. Can you transcode the input files on the command line okay ? If that is the case, then it might be the buffer in the Qt widget is not as scalable as I expected.
sorry for not responding, yes i can transcode ok from commandline and some other apps using mencoder, can you please suggest for solution in my case?
Great job. Cheers lad!
You are welcome. Thanks for cheering me on, I usually get bug reports or feature requests ;) This release focuses on bug fixes and usability improvements. It is hard to believe how many issues I found trying it on another (dual-core) laptop. I think that once Undo/Redo works 100% and I found and fixed some more bugs I have reached 2.0.0. Varol :)
Hello out there after a long while I wanted to author a DVD. What surprise - qdvdauthor looked new and nice - BUT - it wouldn't accept any input files. I did as I always did - create a mpeg2 file with avidemux_gtk - option - auto - dvd. mpeg2 files created that way always worked fine for qdvdauthor. But now, in the add file dialog the thumpnails only hold the word 'error' and when clicking them, nothing happens. I cannot find any log or error message, so I have no idea why qdvdauthor doesn't want these files any more. Any suggestions? greeting to everyone Hans-Peter
Make sure your MediaBackend is set up correctly [ Tools->Setup ]. It works like a charm on my Computr. Varol :)
I guess my backend is ok. The problem seems to stick in the Add / Organize Dialog. I can't select a video in there. It seems to get stuck in there. If I use the right-button-in-the-source-toolbar-method everything works fine. btw: great piece of work. Congratulations to you. Hans-Peter
I dont understand about this stuff of compile... Can someone tell me how compile rc3 from source?? I already have the qt3 and the qmake, but i dont know compile it!
Hi there, this is a QT3 app, not a KDE app, isn't it? So, shouldn't it be on qt-apps.org? Don't missunderstand me, but your app doesn't fit into the look'n'feel of KDE. That's the reason why I think, it should be on qt-apps.org. Has nothing to do with your program at all. Greetings m0nk
