Description:
iList is an intelligent playlist for Noatun. Intelligent in the sense that
songs are selected from a (possibly large) repository of audio files in a
smart manner. It ships with the following features :

- Fast synchronization of on-disk song libraries
- Multi-level queues
- Automatic rating of songs
- Several song selection strategies
- Customizable user interface through dockable windows
- Fast incremental searching
- Support for multiple playlists
Last changelog:

Changes in this version include:

New Features:

o Added setting to allow multiline cells for comments which fixes bug
#1173628.
o Added setting to select the items that show up as search results, so they
can be easily enqueued or dragged to a another list.
o Added shortcut F5 for updating a playlist and shortcut Ctrl+F5 for updating
all playlists.
o Added setting to remove items from the Preview when they are played or
enqueued from there.
o The currently played item is also highlighted in the History where it is
the topmost item.

Fixed bugs:

o Fixed same item being played twice in a row in "Adaptive Learning" play
mode, by commenting out randomness.
o Fixed bug #1281276 which caused an assertion failure in KDE library code.
o Fixed last item before shutdown showing up twice in History.
o Fixed last item before shutdown not being played after startup although the
respective setting is set.

Changes:

o Reactivated "Loop in Queue" feature.

Have fun!

This playlist really begs for the in-the-works noatun-api which will allow mainwindow and playlist to be the same. With its dockwidget handling it could very well replace a normal mainwindow altogether.

yeah, having the iList window as the main window without the hack of hiding the noatun play window would be fantastic. Apart from that, feature wise iList is just what I want. The mixture of a queue and a preview window is great. The only problem I have, is that loading/saving the old playlist at startup takes rather long (JuK is much faster in this regard e.g., but also scans the hard drive for new songs when starting up). To be more precise, it says "Restoring history playlist - 99%" for 5 seconds, the first 99% go instantly.

Hi, thanks for the positive feedback. This is highly appreciated, since we haven't heard much from any users yet. I'll have a closer look at that code, maybe you could check how big your history playlist is (number of items). I also would like to know if you're unhappy with the restoring of the playlists in general or if it's just the last 5 seconds that seem to be spent for restoring the history playlist. Opening a bug report is a good idea too so this issue won't be forgotten. Felix Berger
