I had copied the associated files into a current themes icon directory, e.g.,
/usr/share/icons/crystalsvg/32x32/apps
To get the kicker bar to use one of them, I renamed the kmenu.png to kmenu_original.png and then copied one of the new icons to kmenu.png. It helps to write a little shell script to help facilitate the copying steps.
And if for some reason you don't have the same directory I do, you could use a helpful little command to find where to put them:
find /usr/share | grep kmenu.png
I will be updating these in the future to provide more subdued colors as well as doing pastel colors. And changing the file names in the compressed package. It looks silly seeing the different icon sizes in the Select Icon dialog box.
