Description:
A GFXBoot Grub theme (like SLD 10) designed for Ubuntu, mixed up from Saki's Snowish icon set (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=32599) and Wuf's Snowish-inspirat wallpaper (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=33217)

Requires GFXBoot to be installed (see here for ubuntu derivatives: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=208855) . Once this is done, this theme can be unzipped and placed into the grub directory and linked from menu.lst (add 'gfxmenu /boot/grub/message.snow' to the top of the file)

Please note, be careful when playing with Grub files - without a LiveCD or some kind of recovery disk, it can really make things difficult if things go wrong.

I almost killed my self getting this program installed, but it finally worked, and now when I boot up(If I ever need to shut down) I'll be greeted by your beautiful theme. Truly amazing work.

GRUB

How to install a grub theme:

  1. Extract the theme to /boot/grub/themes/

  2. Edit /etc/default/grub file. Find the line starting with "#GRUB_THEME" and change it to "GRUB_THEME=/boot/grub/themes/[THEME_FOLDER]/[theme.txt]" (replace [THEME_FOLDER] ; [theme.txt] is probably OK ; remove "[]" brackets)

  3. Run sudo update-grub
