Description: It's just some little experiment i've done with gimp. i really like all the splash-screens created for this site. It's based on the original tux created by Larry Ewing and the iKon icon-set. So this is nothing special, just fun.
it'S very easy.
just copy all 4 files to the directory of ksplash. on suse: it's /opt/kde2/share/apps/ksplash/pics
i think on mandrake it's /usr/share/apps/ksplash/pics/
that's it.
I think is better if you put all splash_* files in :
~/.kde/share/apps/ksplash/pics
You'll have to create ksplash/pics, but this way, you won't loose your changes with an update of KDE
you can try analysing the images in /usr/share/apps/ksplash/pics/ .. You might need to cut the image to pieces that way, but it'll work..
I don't have any experience it anyway.. or you may use the kontrol center module of ksplashml (if you installed that one, it's on this site in the "other" section) but I run mandrake8.1 too, and the module didn't work with me :(
I would go with changing the pics in the pics directory if I were you :-)
