In this site http://wfmh.org.pl/carlos/ there are, among others, a very similar theme: ksplash-tuxntosh: http://wfmh.org.pl/carlos/debian/ksplash-tuxntosh_20040228-1_all.deb Format is .deb - debian apt-get, but it can be converted with alien or kapkage can also install it.
It seems there is a problem... When I uncompress the file, I have an empty file of 0 octets... Then, this splash screen seems to be unusable for now...
Just download the screenshots to ~/.kde/share/apps/ksplash/pics with the following names: splash_top.png (the fat apple pinguin) splash_active_bar.png (the icons) splash_inactive_bar.png (the gray bar) and it will work
hi guys... i did that splash ,because i saw tux'n tosh and thought it could be a good idea and the x is a refference to aqua osX and u've got to be honest if mac knows one thing it's to make a great gui with a great design... so why not add it to your kde, it's a great gui and i just like the design of macos.. can't help it :)
I can't understand why people like having these "X" of OS X or apple icon on their linux box. Ok rad-e8 iconset is very cool but i prefer mark difference between linux and other os in avoiding to use significatives logos. [Please excuse my english.]
I understand your point, but you could think of the mentioned X as the one from "X"Windows. I know, it's not a good reason to use the Mac icons. But some people like the sleek look of the icons. I personally prefer the good ol' everaldo icons.
In this case why not to create our own X symbol or improve the renderer of traditional X icon... About mac icons, i use rad-e8 icons but without thoses mac symbols because even if everaldo icons are perfectly done, they look too "cartoonish" for me. It would be great if he could done a set more "professional" (sorry for the terms but my english isn't very developed...") I haven't forgot my own iconset but at the moment no time enough... and it's difficult to obtain good result with my cheap camera.
