Description: Isn't she so pretty? She deserved also a splash screen, didn't she? I've taken the picture from a wallpaper here in kde-look.org. The address is:
Way 1: You may download KSplashManager to easily manage and install any splash screen on kde-look.org: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=2562
Compile KSplashManager by doing: $ tar zxvf ksplashmanager-0.9.1b.tar.gz $ cd ksplashmanager.b $ ./configure $ make $ su Password: (enter root password) # make install # exit
Then you can execute it going to the K menu, selecting "Run command..." and entering "/usr/local/kde/bin/ksplashmanager" (you may copy and paste but without the quotes).
Way 2: Uncompress the splash-screen .tar.gz and copy the files contained inside it to the directory ~/.kde/share/apps/ksplash/pics . If the directory doesn't exist, just create it.
He there,
I am pleased to read about KSplashManager.
I thought it was no use since KDE3.1 because of a new KControl module managing splash screen themes, but I've noticed that it does handle only themes pack with the now common "theme.index" file embeded in the archive theme. So I see that KSplashManager which is not (yet ?) a KControl module is still required to handle generic splash-screen :-) ;-)
So thank you "djworld" for your ref to KSplashManager
- ah! baout your theme, indeed she IS beautifull! :-)
Than
umm did you get permission to take that and use it? i think you should ask the person who created it and posted it if you could yse it instead of taking it without permission ( just out of respect ) i know i would be upset if some 1 took my art and used it without my permission. even if it is GPL please ask im sure the person who made it would apriciate it.
I've already contacted him and I'm waiting for his reply. Anyway, it's published under the "Artistic" license. I've taken a look at it and says you may redistribute or modify it (as in GPL).

What is the difference between GPL and Artistic 2.0 then ?
I suppose GPL is only applied to software and "Artistic" is only applied to pictures.
