how do i get the pic displayed during boot? will it only replace the suse background pic or cover it? thx
ok here are instructions for the bootsplash:, this applies to all of the suse 8.1 bootsplashes: 1) unpack the .tar.bz2 file 2) copy the folder into /usr/share/splash/themes/ 3) change /etc/sysconfig/bootsplash to use the theme. This is how Where it says THEME="themename" change themename or whatever it is to the name of the folder of the theme you want to use (for this one it is "Dragon800x600" ) 4)run the follow ing commands as root: firstly, SuSEconfig --module bootsplash and then, mk_initrd So, for this particular theme:(terminal commands marked by a preceding > ) 1) >bunzip2 Dragon800x600.tar.bz2 2) >tar -xf Dragon800x600.tar 3) >su root 4) (type your root password) 5) >cp -r Dragon800x600 /usr/share/splash/themes 6) >mcedit /etc/sysconfig/bootsplash 7) in mcedit, replae the themename in the speech marks with Dragon800x600, so the line reads : THEME="Dragon800x600" 8) quit mcedit 9) >SuSEconfig --module bootsplash 10) >mk_initrd
the screenshot thumbnail doesnt look much like the actual splash; it's all muddy ewwww so dont judge it by the thumbnail. Look at the actual screenie :D:D:D
