I need somethin more than just a ScreenShot

A nice job and well done splash screen. But personally I would be terrified to mimic anything in the M$ style for fear of lawsuits galore. You may laugh and wonder why they would go for someone like that. I just won't take my chances.

PeliKan

it does not matter if it looks like Winbugs XP, what matters is that your machine really works inside.

Most of you here are a bottle of beer short of a six pack. I thought the idea behind linux and linux programs was so that the user could configure it HOW they wanted it, not how you idiots want it. Cheers Skippy

yes I am recently converted to the delight that is linux. I myself would probably not use this splashscreen, or perhaps I would just as a little rip at those folks up at redmond. So the obvious comment is, whats with the rest of the low brow low IQ masses around here that don't appreciate good talent for good talents sake. Its all about bringing people over folks. The talent that created it is there, the screen is mostly crisp, although I found it just a little bit blurred using the resolution I have my monitor set at. for those of you who haven't quite met the age of adulthood or enlightenment yet. I suggest hanging around the MTV website and critiquing videos...or get on The Gimp and show us what you are made of. Otherwise...useless comments are just that ...USELESS!!!

The only guidelines people really have to follow to submit things a is really only one thing. The fact that what they're submitting is different than what other people are submitting. That way we all have a choice. The people we welcome into the Linux community, the more that will stay. Just for using Linux we all are smart people because it really is not a user-friendly OS as of yet. But criticizing someone like this is the most un-intelligent thing I've ever seen you guys do. If you want to bitch - go back to Windows. Plenty to bitch about there. :)

This splash screen really sucks, yo!

calebril

Yeah lets all bash the Micosoft looking one.. but go ape shit over apple inspired one.. morons.

minionx

Please stop with this windows wannabe stuff on KDE and others. The last thing I wanna see is any windows images while using Linux.

We need to understand that when We are going to a company and said for them, that we have an excellent product, with a small price, the manager alway compares with Windows, and this themes is the best way for us enter in big companies offering good solutions for desktop!

fauzie

It doesn't work! My roomate is no longer interested in Linux, because it doesn't look any different than windows!!

I am slowly but surely converting all of the computers in my office to Linux. Things such as your fine work here serve to make the transition smoother for my employees who are intimidated by Linux. I am converting as someone else said, not because Windows and MacOS aren't good products, I believe they are. I am converting because Linux is superior in that, among other things, it gives me more flexibility.

anonymous-hive

To everybody: I don't know why are you so angry, it's just a picture.

anonymous-hive

and it sucks

anonymous-hive

KDE users have to admit at some point that Windows, as well as other commercial OSs out there, has some good points before we can finally say that our system is superior. KDE has a solid core that is only getting better, but we need more artwork and freedom of expression to make KDE as useable as possible for the widest range of users possible. People care that there system is comfortable, and if one wants their system to look like Windows, BeOS, OS X, or whatever else you can think of let them make the choice, and if they want an alternative, they can just look at all the other quality items here and decide for themselves.

anonymous-hive

comment!! peace out.....:-))

anonymous-hive

I like it. The people who open their mouth should just make a better one after that they can bug around

From what I can tell, the creator had a very good point. We need to show Windoze users that Linux can be just the same, AND that it can be different. In order for people to feel more comfortable with the transition from something they've been used to, they need familiarity, NOT TOTAL DIFFERENCE. Once they get used to the idea, then they will move on to bigger and better things. But until then, the only way to snag most of them is to show them familiarity. You flamers need to grow up and look at the big picture.

anonymous-hive

The splash screen looks great! But I'm not a Windows fun so I'll keep my old splash image. However The splash you made might be good on faking people and make them realize that gnu/linux is as easy (or easier) to use than Windows.

anonymous-hive

hmmmm i have some problems finding a SPLASH screen within the GNU/Linux sourceheaders.... KDE != GNU/Linux fill your brain with this.

anonymous-hive

Ahhh! I love when ppl makes Winodws wannabe ;)

anonymous-hive

no, we are not from m$, we are gnome users and like trolling kde homos down.

anonymous-hive

n/t

anonymous-hive

.. I'm sure the rest of the Gnome people are glad you're advertising them like this. On the other hand, why should they care about someone like you? Forza KDE, Forza Gnome! :-)

anonymous-hive

well and what do you plan doing against this ? we gnome people are more 3l337 than you kde whores you'd better get some working evironment before messing with us. we gnome people are better people than kde ones. gnome > * > kde
