Shows the Gnome Shell Appview by simulating keyboard shortcut (SUPER + A) and can be used in lieu of a start button in taskbars / panels. Just save the .desktop file anywhere on your computer and pin it to your panel as you would any other starter. If you want to change the icon, you can edit the file using your favourite text editor.

If you use Docky, you can also follow the tutorial (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Docky+Main+Menu?content=138187) by RishavT, just replace alt-F1 with Super+a.
