Description: I don't have time or motivation to maintain this icon theme anymore (this theme has not changed since version 3.3, Mar 17 2007). The fact that it still "kinda" works nearly a decade later (2015) is a small miracle. If anyone wants to take over its ownership, please contact me. ====================
This is (was) a complete refresh of the original OSX icon theme by Toby. I fixed every missing icon I could find, fixed the "tiny icon" problem and made enhancements. It is somewhat of a hybrid theme: I tried to make choices that seemed logical trying to keep a balance between usability and strict adherence to OS X.
2015 update: fixed the download link, nothing else.
This was just a very old version of Clearlooks (from two years before!) with Compiz' default window decorations (before Compiz was compatible with Metacity themes).
It's sad to see a great theme lose its usefulness by becoming obsolete. Please check out and use my Mashup icon theme which is live and fresh with regular updates. Here is the link:

GOOD NEWS! I have an up-to-date version (Ubuntu 8.04) of this icon theme and I have contacted the creator to see if I can take it over. The bad news is that it's on my other computer in Utah and I wont be able to get it for about a month. But it will happen so be patient :)
Hey Im a bit of a nuby when it comes to changing icons. I cant seem to change the default folder icons from tango to those lovely osx ones you provided. Any suggestions?
by the way there isnt a file system section in the scalable icons anymore. I think this could be the problem, but i have no idea how to fix it
unfortunately no
mv: missing destination file operand after `original folders/*'
Try `mv --help' for more information.
bilwalsh@bilwalsh-laptop:~/.icons/OSX/scalable/places$
even though I know the icons are there!!
Is not compatible with Gnome 2.20.0 (Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon), if not good theme.
I would use it when it is compatible with Gnome 2.20.
Goodbye and good continuation!

metacity - Compiz Express and I got what I wanted. It looks as on your screens. Great.

cd ~/.icons/OSX/scalable/places/ && mv "original folders/*" . ...should work

did you forget the dot (".") at the end? it means "current folder".
cd ~/.icons/OSX/scalable/places/ ln -s gnome-fs-directory.png folder.png ln -s gnome-fs-directory.png gtk-directory.png then, reload your icons...
Doesn't work well with Gnome 2.22
not surprised at all, since they keep changing names around and I don't maintain this anymore (as stated above)
looks beautiful,i like!
an amazing icon set, thank you.

bonjour jean-lux, as I said I don't have time and motivation to maintain this anymore. If someone wants to do it, I'll gladly hand over the ownership.
I think it's ok in Gutsy, but first you will have to use Synaptic to install the Tango theme. Did you try that?
