I'm not really a fan of the way XP looks, myself, but the first complaint I hear whenever I show someone Linux is that it looks different. I think to myself something like "Of COURSE it bloody looks different. Your dog looks different to my cat too!", but just to quash that argument, I put on the Royale XP themes. I think TheRob made them, I can't remember right now. Anyway, I think your start menu button kind of captures the Windows style without compromising how "linuxy" it is. It's a good imitation, and looks like it works well for the purposes of familiarity, and not for fooling someone into thinking they're using XP.
Sorry - just actually checked Royale, and it's not TheRob's. It's made by someone called Aleshribar
that is a very close xp imitation man! for that I voted good! //Robert PS. Do you actually like the way xp looks? like the "luna" theme?
Actually, I have my wife's as well as a guest account on here set up to look like XP, for the sake of familiarity, not to mention I like to do that just to show off, given that Ubuntu by default uses the dual panels at the top and bottom of the screen, which is how I have it set up on my own account. For the record, I've got the "Bluman" theme on here right now. Not to mention, whenever I get around to it, I plan to create some based on other colors, too, including some that will blend right in with Ubuntu's default brown and orange look. Thanx for the comments! :-) Fred in St. Louis
