Description:
I know, I know, it's another system monitor and there is plenty of that...... but few of them are oriented horizontally and they are not as complete as I expected, so here it is .
Why did I do this? 'Cause I like the idea of having my monitor on the upper part of my screen. I think it's more natural. I guess it's a matter of choice so, I give this choice to you as well .

This Superkaramba applet is a complete computer monitor, including temps, partitions monitoring, network, memory, mails, system... It's based on Thao's Thao Sys Meter. Complete Horizontal System Monitor also includes Thunderbird Karamba applet. Thanks to their respective authors.

Dependancies :

This applet depends on libsensors/lm_sensors and hddtemp. They must be configured correctly.
Even if Complete Horizontal System Monitor doesn't depend on Thunderbird, it's recommanded to install this app as well.

Features :

- Display uptime
- Display Chipset temp
- Display power supply voltages
- Monitor memory and swap up to 10Go
- monitor CPU up to 8 cores
- Monitor 1 network
- Monitor 4 paritions and 2 HDD up to 10To each
- Monitor up to 3 e-mail adresses
- Display date and time

How to use :

Just use the .theme file corresponding to your CPU with Karamba or Superkaramba.

- chsm_standard : Standard applet for high end monocore CPU.
- chsm_lowCPU : Applet for low end CPU, informations update rate is lower, but nothing is missing.
- chsm_dualCPU : Applet for dual-core CPU. Update rate is the same as standard.
- chsm_triCPU : Applet for AMD Phenom tri-core CPU. Update rate is the same as standard.
- chsm_quadCPU : Applet for quad-core CPU. Update rate is the same as standard.
- chsm_octoCPU : Applet for octo-core CPU. Update rate is the same as standard.

Have fun! Feel free to use it, to modify it, to give it etc etc... Thanks to GPL .

Some configuration instructions are in the Readme file.
If you're about to click the "bad" button, please also give a feedback in the comments.
Last changelog:

1.06
- Fixed a few bugs on multi-core applets I couldn't notice before having a multi-core CPU myself.

1.05
- Added dedicated lines for HDD temps. Some HDD names are longer than I thought.
- Fixed a font size problem. For an unknown reason, this problem wasn't showed on my system until now.
- Added a forgotten text to Tri, Quad and Octo-core scripts.
- Slightly modified the place of the HDD area in the Tri, Quad and Octo-core scripts, to fit with the new lines without having to modify the applet's size.

1.04
- Fixed a change in the way new version of lm-sensors is displaying power-supply's voltages. In a coding point of view, the new way of displaying voltages is a little dirtier, but it works as expected in both old and new versions of lm-sensors.
Note that lm-sensors still needs to be configured using "sudo/su sensors-detect".

1.03
- Fixed a little bug in the swap bar.

1.02
- Changed the position of the total download and upload numbers to avoid occasionnal overlappings with the text.

1.01
- Moved the date icon to avoid occasionnal overlappings with the date.

hi Loacoon, I've done a theme based on your work. You can download it here http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/siNc?content=72978

Yes, I've just seen it. It looks good, really really complete ;). I wanted to add graphical monitors too, but as you surely noticed, it's hard to monitor all the cards on the market, and the place is missing for multi-core CPUs monitoring. But I like your modification. If people want to have a really complete monitor, including GPU, yours is a good option ;).

why Thunderbird and not Kmail?

Loacoon

Hmm, the first reason is of course that I use Thunderbird. ;) The second is : Thunderbird is, I think, the most used. Anyway, that's just a link to launch the app, there is no real dependency to Thunderbird. It can be used without. If you know how to do, you can even change the link, so kmail will be launched instead of Thunderbird (maybe I should add it to the readme?).
