Here are a couple things you should check.
1) Do you have the 'fortunes' program installed on your system? The theme is configured to look for fortunes in /usr/games. Perhaps it's somewhere else. If it's somewhere else, edit the theme's configuration.
2) Look at the .xsessions-errors file in your home directory. It might have some hints.

Maybe i'm not doing the right thing but when i load the theme i don't see anything in the box
