To those that develop the widget for the notification area: Please could you use a custome icon and not relying on the default icon from GTK theme- it places huge restrictions on customization of the menubar and allow transparency for any widgets in the notification area. Thanks.

My icon theme is called SimpleIcons. You can easily make them by drawing a circle and using a GPL symbol font for the graphic. My idea is for an interface like a tube/metromap or museum guide. Enjoy.
