Description: 'Luna' is the italian translation of the term 'Moon'. It's based on the original Blue theme of WindowsXP. This style it's written with the old KDE pixmap engine, so it doesn't support the trasparent menu effect. The applications you see in the screenshot are: GKrellM: System monitoring tool with Acqua skin. http://www.gkrellm.net Konqueror: Web browser. http://www.konqueror.org Kopete: Multiprotocol istant messaging client. http://kopete.kde.org SuperKaramba Kroller applet: MacOSX like dockbar. http://www.kde-look.org If you want to download this GKrellM skin visit my Home Page. http://www.aronnax.itLast changelog:

Alessandro 'Aronnax' Rossini: o Added support for KDE 3.2
Thank you very much for this theme. When I show people this computer with this theme and they use it on my computer they instantly feel at home coming from MS.
Would you consider porting it to the new kde theme manager (3.3). Appreciate the hard work involved and keep it up.

Right now I'm in the process of creating a WinXP-like Linux to make the transition as easy as possible for my mother. While I personally prefer Aqua to Luna, I can see the work you've put into this and I think I'm not the only person who needs a windows-like kde for their friends or realtives. good work!
I'm the same way. On my MEPIS box, I've set up a password-less guest account for any of our nieces or nephews or other family members, and I've given that account kind of an XP-ish look, too, in order to help them feel right at home with Linux.
I see you have put a lot of work into this & for that I say bravo.
But you must realise that when XP was in beta it was fun to copy it's style just so you could thumb your nose at Monopoly$oft. (same with copying MacOS X in it's pre release times)
Now after all these years it's boring.
This reminds me of WindowsXP. I gave up WindowsXP last year due to finding a much better, faster, and more stable OS that blows all Microsoft OS's away... I found Linux. If you want your box to look like WindowsXP, go buy that *toy* made by Bill and co. in Redmond, and, shame on you for wasting your time and resources to make something this bloody ugly.
Long live Freedom of Speech!!!
I like it but it still doesen't fool my parents. I'm trying to get them not to notice it is Linux just for fun. If you could make a XP icon tehme, XP taskbar and change Konquerors buttons that would be fantastic.
As far as Luna goes, you've done a great job recreating it. I'm personally not a big fan of Luna, but your style looks great. My question is what is the internet explorer icon doing in your panel?!
Hi i downloaded and installed themes and styles
I have all proper icons and windows working all right but i can't have scrollbars buttons checkboxes working. I'm a newbie maybe install script is not enough ??
plz help
Thx
i think this screenshot is really something!!! i use it for my main linuxpc and modified KDE a bit(http://m4rtin.dnsalias.net/pic/zooi/winamp3linux.png)
the only thing i regret is that the tabs, scrollbars, and buttons dont work :(
the icons and window decorations are great!!
You know, since Corel left the Linux market (which was before I came over), I haven't been able to get their products. One reason I switched over to Linux was so that I could use my WordPerfect and PhotoPaint. Does anyone know where I can download these apps?
I love the colour schemes with this theme, however I'm not too keen on the XP Window decoration... I recommend you install the theme as instructed and then at the end switch your Window Decoration to 'ModSystem'. It looks very cool and you don't have to be reminded of M$ every day...
Keep up the excellent work guys
How many times are people going to have a completly pointless discussion about what the word for moon is in other languages?! This theme is called luna because that's what microsoft named it when they made the windows xp theme

Your other themes/styles (acqua, acqua graphite) don't work. I didn't try this one, but, I doubt it works either - since the authors are the same.

although I don't like windows of any sort...this is a nicely made style =)
I could do with a skin like this my college is predudice to Open Source software because they think they need a special licence they are total morons
XP = M$ = EVIL!
I've already got kde_xp, and it looks like this. Is there any differences?
In padovan slang (very, very country) luna is 'UNA. But I think it's too boaro! CIAO FIOI!

control center -> look and feel -> style ..choose luna & it'll work. nice work!
The window frame just kills the finished look of themes like this. Native KDE styles/themes need to be written for a more realistic imitation.
