Port Neko98, merge with AMOR (proposal)
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Neko98 has much more options, and the author makes the source available (some of which is from oneko). I just sent him an e-mail asking him to release Neko98 under the GPL.
The only options that AMOR has that Neko98 doesn't have are:
The ability to right-click on the creature to bring up a tooltip
The "Offset" slider and functionality
The "Show random tips" checkbox and functionality
Also, I'd like to have the themes I work on be included in the official release (there's only about a dozen of them available now, even through http://kde-look.org ).
What's the best way for me to contact the AMOR team or begin working on the project? I'm not sure how to post a message to http://lists.kde.org
Here are some screenshots from Neko98 (notice Link from Zelda in the first one, my favorite theme).
You can get the Neko98 source here:
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Haven/4173/neko
The Neko98 author's site is down due to Geocities traffic limits (oops). The source is attached, and I can provide the binaries if asked. Also, the legality of using the code in KDE is being debated...the author may be required to relicense under the GPL because some is derived from xneko (and maybe oneko?).
Anyone else interested in working on this if the code does get GPL'ed? AMOR hasn't been updated in quite some time.

Are amor developers interested in an animation I have made. It would need some work to be appropriate e.g. transparency but is a gif and features tux (classic version) doing things like dreaming and fishingis 100pixel square
Can anyone explain me what this it?
AMOR and Neko98 both display creatures that run around the screen. In the case of Neko98, the creature can chase the mouse (along with a few other behaviors). The original xneko and also oneko have just a white cat as the creature.
It sounds nice. On a side note, I think amor could be polished a bit more. i.e. I'd rather have .mng animations (alphablended) on my windecs... It would look cleaner. Oh and it would be great to not have ugly shadows under the animation when having kompmgr enabled... Greetings.
Thanks for the hello. I know very little about what you suggest. I'm just working with PNGs right now, but I'd appreciate any advice/pointers you can give me about other image types.
as far as i know, pngs can be animated too - the mng format itself has not been used quite a while. I am not sure if it hasn't merged with png?
