I think this is a useful plugin for some of the protocols that do not store and forward messages when the intended recipient goes online. Now if only someone would write a plugin to stop ICQ authorization spams. :)

Yes this is possible to implement and should be fairly easy... Anyways... I daubt the usefulness for this plugin. If a message is sent when the other user is offline it's most likely the last "bye" message that got lost. If you would like to abuse instant messaging as an offline communication service you could write a mail as well... Kopete already has the ability to send a mail to users directly through your contact list.

Yeah but no one uses email any more (spam). This functionality was always very appreciated by me in ICQ. It would be nice to see something like it in other protocols, or a workaround at the app level.

well you could mail ... but then again you loose the continuity of the conversation. thats how i got the idea ... will ponder on it . ;)

deabru

jabber's servers does something like it by self. But implement it for all protocols would be great.
