Win9x Modern
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Description:
A flat Openbox and GTK theme started from scratch.
The purpose of this theme is to provide a non-distracting look for productivity, while maintaining a modern feel. I have combined elements of the old Win9x series, which undoubtedly where the best for productivity, but look out of place on a modern desktop. Therefore I combined elements of the trending Windows 8 flat theme. However, my own personal gripe with Windows 8‘s GTK theme is that there isn’t enough contrast between the slider and its background, something that I have rectified here.
The colours used here are the mid-tone of Windows 98‘s default gradient blue, and my own shade of grey to modernize it, as the old Windows 98 default grey has not aged well.
I may follow this up with additional colour schemes. Right now I’m prioritizing work on a flat icon theme to compliment it.
This is a pixmap theme, meaning it doesn’t require any GTK engines installed. I have fully tested this theme on many applications and have noticed no major issues with it. If you do, please report it here, and I will address it.
