this is my first attempt to modify a Gnome 3 theme. However it's a mix of the Adwaita and Evolve theme. First I just changed the main colors to have more contrasts. Then I tried to make the gtk-2.0 theme more lookalike to the gtk-3.0 Adwaita theme. Then I changed more and more. And well, this is what I finally got. I hope you like it.
REQUIREMENTS:
The gtk-2.0 theme requires BOTH Clearlooks and Murrine Engine! I know that it can be easily downloaded from the repos for Fedora, Ubuntu and Arch Linux - last one is the one I use.
The LOOK:
Hm, hardly to describe. Have a look on the screenshots or just try it out! If you don't like the theme you can delete it! ;-D
ICONS:
Actually I use the Oxymentary-monochrome icon pack. It can be found here on www.gnome-look.org or - if I should be false - at www.opendesktop.org. It's a big package. Everything else but the gtk and the window theme is set to Gnome 3 default.
DONATIONS:
Of course this theme is free for everybody. Use it, modify it, share it however you want. But if you want to make a donation for this stuff of real hard and partially frustrating work, feel free to send your donation! It would be very kind, but it is no must!
LICENSE:
LGPL in it's today's version or later.
Well, after all, I don't know what more to say. Download it and enjoy your new gnome 3 desktop theme.
Version 1.1 (Upload: 01-12-2012):
(All changes only in gtk-2)
- Fixed a color bug,
- made some changes to the scrollbars to make the look more Adwaita gtk-3 lookalike,
- set notebook's background color to white, so it matches to Adwaita's gtk-3 and
- did some other little changes.
Version 1.0:
My first final Version. If you find any bug, please feel free to send me a short hint about it. Thanks!
