Oxymentary (Oxygen Icons for GNOME)
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Available as/for:
Description:As the normal Tango compliant Oxygen theme misses certain GNOME specific icons that some programs use, it tends to cause some icons to fall back to the original vanilla GNOME icons which clash with the Oxygen icons. This theme is designed to add in many of the missing icons, and in cases where the icon is not found, it will fall back to using icons from the Elementary theme (if installed).
The original Oxygen Icons are part of the Oxygen project
Oxymentary Monochrome provides monochrome icons for use on light colored panels. It is a version of Elementary Monochrome designed to use the Oxymentary Icons instead of the Elementary Icons.
UPDATE: I have also included a link to Oxymentary Theme. A style settings file for QTCurve that provides a unified look across both KDE and GNOME desktops.

It used to be included in Linux Mint's Software Manager, but was removed for some reason. So I tracked it down on the internet here and downloaded it to use again with Mint 15. Like some may have reported, not all the icons are visible for Gnome 3 / Cinnamon (which uses Gnome 3 as a base). For me, the "Home" folder wasn't skinned in the Oxymentary icon theme so I had to rename all the folder-home.png icons to folder_home.png and copy the 256x256 places icons to the /scalable/places directory to get the Home folder to show up skinned. Not really surprising given that this set was made for Gnome 2, but the icon set looks so amazing that it was worth the hassle of having to mod it to work with 3 for me. Great work!
For those who are experiencing the missing 'close tab' icon in nautilus. Please modify the index.theme file. Insert gnome as one of the inherits, just before hicolor. Also, if a theme.cache file exists, you may safely delete it, and it may even fix some of the mini-icons.
This might be affecting only Ubuntu System Settings and not Gnome Control Center in others. But here is the solution: Quote:sudo ln -sf /usr/share/icons/oxymentary/16x16/categories/preferences-desktop-personal.png /usr/share/icons/oxymentary/16x16/categories/preferences-desktop-personal-directory.png

This is for GNOME3? Original icon set was created for GNOME 2. Anyways thanks for the post, i'll build those icons when I release a GNOME 3 update. If anyone has any suggestions feel free to share them.
Yes, this Gnome 3 (Ubuntu 12.04) and I haven't come across with any other issues so far.
So far this is the only problem I've seen in this excellent icon theme. I guess it must be easy to display a disk drive icon there, but I wish I knew how this can be done...
Actually, there is another one: System Settings group icons for Personal, Hardware and System.
This fixes the blank "File System" icon issue in Nautilus: Quote:sudo ln -sf /usr/share/icons/oxymentary/16x16/devices/drive-harddisk.png /usr/share/icons/oxymentary/16x16/devices/drive-harddisk-system.png

This was one of the best things that made me prefer using Kubuntu instead of Ubuntu for some time, and now I have the best of two worlds -- almost. Thanks a lot for fixing the Oxygen icon theme with this!
and are very complete. Thanks for that. What windows decoration/theme are you using in your screenshot?
Thanks. The emerald decoration I am using is based off of this one http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Windows+7+new?content=127949 I made lots of little edits to it to make it suit me, so I don't know if that one will look very much like the one i'm using but there you go.
