Description: GnoMenu will restart development in a few days and with ramping towards GnoMenu 2. Though not set in stone GnoMenu 1.7 will most likely be the last of the major GnoMenu 1 series releases leaving 1.8 and 1.9 for bug fixes and minor feature updates.
We need user inputs to get ideas for features users and Theme Creators want to see in the GnoMenu 2 series.
If you have a Launchpad membership you can put feature requests there at:
https://answers.launchpad.net/gnomenu
or contact me at shaun(dot)marolf(at)gmail(dot)com
to get gnomenu to show seperators in the program list, the same way the default menus do, and possibly to set the font for "Browse Internet" and "Email" to Bold
still its great so far :)
Does GnoMenu already have a built-in way to clear the recent items list, like the normal menus? I can't seem to find it here. If there ain't one, I think it would be a nice addition.
You cannot (I did not find it somewhere) logout to switch to another user using gnomenu. I think this is a specific distro issue. I am using Fedora 10. The shutdown button only gives me the option to shutdown or restart. It would be nice if one of the other buttons could give you an option to logout.
With compiz fusion, GnoMenu acts like a window with opening and closing effects. If there is a way to fix that with Gnomenu and giving it it's own effect independent of compiz that would be nice (that is, if there is not a way to fix that using ccsm).
Please allow for a Lancelot like theme with tabs for the Recent, Favorites, etc. also dock-like widget integration to make it flow unlike other tree menus. On my final note please consider some sort of an applet platform to support menu widgets.
Can you add a custom command feature for Gnomenu2? Like a GUI for putting custom commands to GnoMenu like shortcut to icons, etc? That way, users won't have to fiddle with the GnoMenu XML or other technical stuff and simply do it through the preference menu.

This is a feature that has to be added to the list of usable functions in GnoMenu and Helder will probably add it to 1.7 along with a few others.
I will make a mockup with some ideas for GnoMenu 2. I'm thinking now.

Added to the feature request Blueprint. Thanx

Already in the works. This is in the blueprints.
