Description:
Just playing around with some title/menubar designs.

Most of the credit for this goes to other people; my sole contribution has been the introduction of a single gradient and some minor sizing and color tweaks.

The GTK theme is MurrinaFancyCandy by Andrea Cimitan. You will need the Murrine GTK engine.

The Metacity theme is System G by Andy Morum.

I appreciate all feedback.
Enjoy!

Very nice theme. Thank you - all involved - for creating it!

one issue though I have noticed with this theme that I do not like is that the message dialog window appears green and red. Is this a fluke or was window border actually supposed to do this? It throws the whole theme off.

You can't see me, but I'm banging my head against the desk right now. The borders were not intentional; I was trying to fix it so that windows without menus have a border on top to make them look nicer. The compiz window decorator appears to treat all windows the same, and I couldn't get it to work. It seems I forgot to take the debugging code out. I'll fix that - thanks for letting me know!

Fixed.

This is one of the best window themes I've ever seen. Ranks up there with "Blended with a Cherry on Top" and it is pretty versatile despite being a deriv work. You look like you have an eye for composition and if your abilities to create are just as good I'd love to see some originals. This theme is fresh, crisp, and bold. I like it.

Thanks a lot - I did a lot of litestep skinning before I switched to linux, so I have a reasonably good idea of what works for these things. Honestly, the main reason for this was because I think menubars are ugly (the mac topbar thing is much more effective, but the GNOME devs refuse to support it) and I wanted a way of hiding them. Anyway, glad you like it.

Yeah, I like your idea of kind of getting rid of the window border too. Borders are really a windows (or even pre windows, like OS/2, old mac os) thing, even though in Linux there's more of a distinction between window and border (because they're 2 different things - eg GTK and Metacity). But keep at it, it's a good path to go down (not another os x/vista clone!), it's looking good so far. :)
