Description:
This is an experimental decoration, it doen't aim at being the best. I made this to have a complete rounded window.

You must configure your window background color : #F5F5F5.

Made with The Gimp and Inkscape.

You's guys are crazy-nutso. The titlebar's exactly the right size; it's the title font that's too small. ;) Of course, my screen resolution's GIANTxHUGE, so I probably waste a lot more space than I realize already. :P

maitre

Titlebar's too big. ;)

motyR

since i'm kind of an invalid when regarding to photoshop or gimp i have some features request/suggestions. first as u might have guessed the title bar is to big, i mean Much to big, second i wish u could do the same thing but with some more 3d texture something like this theme: http://www.cheetux.org.il/~motyr/deKorator/0.2-themes/chunxiayu-theme.tar.gz and last thing it would be nice if u could use those gradiants all over the deco or at list the top and the bottom. all in all u made it very smooth and u didnt even steal to much from the inner space. and if we're in here i should thank u about aeroAIO, for me it was allways a Must have karamba theme, and it's f**king flexable:)

AdrienV

Thank you I will surely make others windeco in this spirit, but these decos will always be less flexible than Powder because you must adapt your window background.

Maxilys

To force the users to adapt their window background to the windec isn't a good idea IMHO. Look in Powder sources and you'll see how to get the window background within your windec. It takes no more than 3 lines of code. Not very hard. We're living in a GPL world, Cut and Paste are your friends. ;-) Besides, you can always ask. That's what I did.

motyR

Hi Maxilys, ammm the thing is that u build and manipulate your images inside the code, but as for deKorator i simply cant support it just because it will be good for one kind of decoration but not for the other ones, there's certainly no need to duplicate what powder had done Long time ago, insted i think it should be extended to some other textures, same idea but in a different look cheers:)

Maxilys

Well, I didn't notice I was for deKorator. ;-) That's definitively different from Powder where everything is drawn "on the fly". I haven't seen deKorator's sources but according to the themes I saw I suppose it supports transparent PNG --at least to be able to do rounded corners. So I can imagine a solution: to support masks. If there's no mask for a picture, deKorator keeps on behaving like currently (backward compatibility), otherwise the picture is drawn over the mask filled with the window background color and the resulting picture is used like currently. This way, you could have for example, just a line as window frame but the window border can have any size since the mask ensures that it will be filled with the window background color. Or else the window background can be used in the title bar, even melt with its color if you play on transparency. Transparency with a mask also enables you to do easy anti-aliasing in between the decoration and the content. This is just a GPL idea. Do whatever you want with it. ;-)

i guess the best way of doing it is just fill the background of the images with the kde colors and to layer on top of it the half transparent images, come to think about it some fancy stuff like this one could be made: http://www.grooan.com/futurefeeds/wp-content/googleOS.jpg

AdrienV

Filling transparents images with window background would be great, it would increase even more the possibilities of dekorator!

Maxilys

(KDE-Look doesn't allow me to answer directly to you.) What are you waiting for? 3, 2, 1, code! ;-)

Superstoned

great work! i hope this ends up in more windeco's :D i love the smoothness of this deco.

Maxilys

It looks very similar to this: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=29935 If you change the buttons and enable the engine to draw even more rounded corners, you get what you want. (GPL is your friend.) ;-) Besides, you can choose your window background color freely. But I must warn you that a lot of people will say that the titlebar is just too big. That's what I've heard so many times.
